Stock Chart

The Stock Chart tool allows you to easily create and customize charts for any stock in the database. Simply type in the stock code or select an instrument from the drop-down box and click the Get Chart button. To find an index, ticker, or other trading instrument, you can start typing its name in the corresponding text field on the charts page, and some matches will appear in the drop-down list.

The Stock Chart tool is also leveraged by the layout feature that allows you to have multiple charts on one page with different settings. This feature is designed to enhance your workflow, as it enables you to compare multiple stocks or indices at a glance. You can place up to 9 charts of different scales and types with various indicators and periods. You can create your custom layouts or use the system. The panel on the right allows you to select the desired ticker from the watch list or the index components.

Technical Analyzer

The Technical Analyzer tool generates a chart along with a list of technical events. Type in the stock code or select an instrument from the drop-down box and click the Analyze button. The Chart will be shown, along with a list of technical events.

Heikin Ashi

You can also view Heikin Ashi charts by switching to the corresponding tab. This kind of chart was invented by Munehisa Homma in the distant 18th century. And yes, this is the same Japanese trader who came up with Japanese candlesticks. The idea behind Heikin Ashi is to make the chart more balanced by eliminating minor price fluctuations. On the Heikin Ashi charts, trends are better visible since the candle color changes less often. For the same reason, it is easy to recognize a possible trend change. All technical analysis indicators apply to Heikin Ashi. Traders can consider crossovers with moving averages as a signal of a trend reversal, and in combination with oscillators, Heikin Ashi can act as an effective filter of false signals.

P&F Chart

This tool allows users to generate P&F charts.

  • The Box Size will determine the number of ATRs or the $ amount each X or O represents.
  • The Reversal parameter sets the number of boxes the price needs to reverse to signal a trend change.
  • The ATR period parameter sets the number of periods used to calculate the ATR.
Any chart can be amended to a P&F chart by changing the chart type. In this case, the default box size and reversal will be set to $1 and $2, respectively. Chart templates can also be set up as P&F charts by setting up a new template and choosing the P&F chart type. This will also allow more customization.

Renko Chart

This tool allows users to generate Renko charts.
  • The Box Size will determine the number of ATRs or the $ amount each brick represents.
  • The ATR period parameter sets the number of periods used to calculate the ATR.
Any chart can be amended to a Renko chart by changing the chart type. In this case, the default box size will be set to $1. Chart templates can also be set up as Renko charts by setting up a new template and choosing the Renko chart type. This will also allow more customization.

Chart Template

The Chart Template feature allows you to save your favorite chart settings for future use. The list of all saved chart templates is displayed below the Chart, and you can apply a template by clicking on the template's name. If a template is set as the default chart template, any new chart opened on the site will apply that template. Intraday Bar Color sets the color of the current bar if the trading session is open. When the current session closes, the bar color will revert to the default for the selected chart type.

When you perform a screening using technical indicators and open a chart on the results page or switch to Charts view, the corresponding technical indicators are shown on a chart. However, you may want to turn off this feature by ticking the "Do not show indicators retrieved from screening technical criteria" option for the default chart template.

It is worth noting that you can select the "Combine periods" option in the Charts view on the Stock Screener results page to view charts with different periods for one ticker. It allows you to select daily, weekly, and monthly periods (altogether) and the templates you created for them by clicking on the corresponding items above the screener results. In this case, the chart templates you have created for daily, weekly, and monthly periods apply to corresponding charts.
