Gap Fill

US

A gap fill trade bets that a stock which opened sharply lower will move back toward the previous close. This list shows NYSE and Nasdaq stocks that opened more than 3% below yesterday's close but now trade above today's open on at least 1.5 times average volume. Traders often target the previous close and place a stop below the low of the day. Penny stocks and illiquid names are excluded.

Screening formula:
exch(nyse,nasdaq) and type(stock) and price > 1 and advol(21) > 1 and gapdn > 3 and c > o and rvol(21) > 1.5 and sortby(gapdn, desc) and show(gapdn as gap_down_pct, rvol(21) as rvol)
