Gap Fill

India

A gap fill trade bets that a stock which opened sharply lower will move back toward the previous close. This screen lists stocks on the Bombay Stock Exchange that opened more than 3% below yesterday's close but now trade above today's open on at least 1.5 times average volume, so buyers are stepping in. Traders often target the previous close, the top of the gap, and place a stop below the low of the day. Prices are in Indian rupees, and the list covers BSE-listed stocks with at least 50 million rupees in average daily trading value.

Screening formula:
exch(bse) and type(stock) and advol(21) > 50 and gapdn > 3 and c > o and rvol(21) > 1.5 and sortby(gapdn, desc) and show(gapdn as gap_down_pct, rvol(21) as rvol)
