A short squeeze happens when a heavily shorted stock rises and short sellers rush to buy back shares, pushing the price even higher. This list shows NYSE and Nasdaq stocks with more than 20% of the float sold short that are up more than 5% today on at least twice their average volume, biggest gainers first. For setups that have not moved yet, see Short Squeeze Candidates in the Smart Money group. Penny stocks and illiquid names are excluded.
