Stage 4 Downtrend

US

Stan Weinstein called the declining phase of a stock cycle Stage 4. It is the mirror image of the Stage 2 uptrend: stacked falling averages show selling on every time frame. Long investors avoid these names; short sellers look for entries on rallies. This list shows NYSE and Nasdaq stocks trading below the 50-day moving average with the 50-day below the 150-day and the 150-day below a 200-day average that is lower than a month ago, down more than 20% in six months with a relative strength rank below 30, weakest first. Penny stocks and illiquid names are excluded.

Screening formula:
exch(nyse,nasdaq) and type(stock) and price > 1 and advol(21) > 1 and price < sma(50) and sma(50) < sma(150) and sma(150) < sma(200) and sma(200) < sma(200)@21 and rs(252) < 30 and change(126) < -20 and sortby(change(126), asc) and show(change(126) as change_6m_pct)
