Penny stocks are low-priced shares, usually under 5 dollars, that can double in a day on news and heavy trading. This screen lists stocks on the Toronto Stock Exchange priced under 5 that are up more than 10% today on at least twice their average volume and more than 1 million shares traded, biggest gainers first. Penny stocks are speculative and often thinly traded outside news days; many traders only trade them during the move and avoid holding overnight.
