This fund puts the vast majority of its money into two main asset types: institutional preferred securities and debt instruments that generate income. Preferred securities sit in the middle of the capital structure ? they have a stronger claim on a company's assets and payouts than ordinary shares, but they rank below all forms of company debt if things go wrong. The fund focuses most heavily on the institutional segment of the preferred securities market.
