Williams' Accumulation/Distribution (WAD) is a technical analysis indicator developed by Larry Williams to measure money flow into and out of a financial asset. It is similar to the more widely used Accumulation/Distribution (A/D) indicator, but the calculation method differs. The WAD indicator is calculated by adding the Accumulation/Distribution value of the current period to the previous period's WAD value. The WAD indicator is a cumulative total plotted as a line chart. The WAD indicator is used by traders to identify potential changes in market trends and to confirm the strength of a trend. For example, if the WAD line is rising, it suggests intense buying pressure in the market and that the trend may continue. |
