Volume Dry-Up

Europe

When volume dries up while the price holds above its moving averages, few holders are willing to sell. Wyckoff and Minervini traders read this as supply exhaustion, often seen just before the next leg up. This screen lists stocks on European exchanges trading above the 50-day moving average, with the 50-day above the 200-day, on less than half of their 50-day average volume, quietest first. Prices are in euros, and the list covers stocks traded on Xetra, Euronext Paris, Euronext Amsterdam, Euronext Milan and the Madrid Stock Exchange with at least 0.5 million euros in average daily trading value.

Screening formula:
exch(xetra,bme,mil,par,ams) and type(stock) and advol(21) > 0.5 and cvol < 0.5 * avol(50) and price > sma(50) and sma(50) > sma(200) and sortby(cvol / avol(50), asc) and show(cvol / avol(50) as volume_vs_50d_avg)
