Hot Stocks lists stocks on the London Stock Exchange that are up more than 5% since the previous close on at least twice their 21-day average volume, biggest gainers first; the top 100 are shown. A big price gain on heavy volume shows real demand rather than a drift in a thin market, and such moves often come from earnings, upgrades or breakouts. Strong moves can extend for days, but late entries carry more risk. LSE prices are quoted in pence, and the list skips thinly traded shares.
