This list shows NYSE and Nasdaq stocks rising on unusual volume: today's or yesterday's volume is at least five times the 50-day average, and the price is up more than 5% over the last two days, excluding penny stocks and illiquid names. The busiest are shown first. A strong advance on a volume surge often comes from earnings, news or institutions building positions, and these moves tend to continue for a few days. Check for overhead resistance before buying.
