Financial strength protects investors in downturns. The Altman Z-Score measures bankruptcy risk, the Piotroski F-Score measures improving fundamentals, and low debt limits the damage when business slows. This screen lists stocks on Asian exchanges with an Altman Z-Score above 3 (the safe zone), a Piotroski F-Score of at least 7 and a debt-to-equity ratio below 0.5. Prices are in each exchange's local currency, and the list covers stocks traded in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore, Seoul and Jakarta with at least about US$0.7 million in average daily trading value.
