This fund puts at least 80% of its money into stocks that make up its target index, which focuses on companies showing strong dividend yields and solid financial fundamentals. Those companies are drawn from a broader pool of roughly the 3,000 largest businesses listed in the United States, spanning large, mid-sized, and smaller firms. Each company's weight in the broader pool is determined by how much of its stock is freely available for public trading.
