Vanguard screens this fund's bond holdings using independent environmental, social, and governance standards, excluding any bonds that mature in under a year or carry less than $750 million in outstanding value. At least 80% of the fund's assets are normally held in bonds that match the index, selected through a sampling approach rather than full replication.
