Albion Technology & General VCT PLC is a UK-based venture capital trust that backs early and growth stage companies, with a focus on technology sectors such as health tech, fintech, artificial intelligence, data, and digital risk, while also supporting non-technology businesses. The fund splits its investments between quoted global technology stocks and unquoted UK companies, avoiding businesses involved in property, banking, agriculture, or the trading of shares and securities. Investments are made through shares, loans, or other securities with maturities of five years or more, and are subject to strict size limits, with portfolio companies required to hold no more than £15 million in gross assets before investment and £16 million immediately after. State-aided risk capital received by any single portfolio company, including from all venture capital trust sources, cannot exceed £5 million within any rolling twelve-month period.
