The Volatility Contraction Pattern (VCP) is Mark Minervini's signature base: a Stage 2 stock pulls back several times, each pullback shallower than the one before, as sellers run out. This is step 4 of the Minervini ladder. It keeps all Trend Template criteria and lists stocks on Asian exchanges whose price range over the latest 20 bars is narrower than over the 20 bars before, the latest 10 bars are narrower still and below 15%, and price is within 15% of its 50-day high. Those closest to the recent high are shown first. Prices are in each exchange's local currency, and the list covers stocks traded in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore, Seoul and Jakarta with at least about US$0.7 million in average daily trading value.
