Margin Expansion

US

Margin expansion means a company keeps more of each dollar of sales as profit, usually through pricing power or scale; with growing revenue it makes earnings grow faster than sales. This list shows NYSE and Nasdaq stocks whose latest quarterly net margin is at least 2 percentage points higher than a year earlier while revenue grew more than 10%, with both margins shown. Penny stocks and illiquid names are excluded.

Screening formula:
exch(nyse,nasdaq) and type(stock) and price > 1 and advol(21) > 1 and revenue_qtr > 0 and revenue_qtr[4] > 0 and net_income_qtr > 0 and net_income_qtr / revenue_qtr > net_income_qtr[4] / revenue_qtr[4] + 0.02 and revenue_yoy > 10 and draw(earnrep) and sortby(revenue_yoy, desc) and show(100 * net_income_qtr / revenue_qtr as net_margin, 100 * net_income_qtr[4] / revenue_qtr[4] as net_margin_year_ago)
