A Channel Down, or descending channel, forms when the price makes lower highs and lower lows between two parallel falling trend lines. It describes an orderly downtrend: rallies to the upper line are often sold, while the lower line marks where declines tend to pause. A break above the upper line can be an early sign that the downtrend is ending.
