This screen finds stocks with a Shiller P/E below 5. The Shiller P/E, or CAPE ratio, developed by economist Robert Shiller, divides the share price by the average of the last ten years of inflation-adjusted earnings, smoothing out business cycles and one-off years. Such an extremely low multiple of long-run earnings is rare and usually reflects deep pessimism, a cyclical collapse or a distressed business.
