The Commodity Channel Index (CCI), developed by Donald Lambert, measures how far the typical price is from its 14-day average relative to the average deviation; most readings fall between -100 and +100, so moves beyond them mark unusually strong or weak prices. A move above zero means the price has risen above its 14-day average, a shift toward bullish momentum.
