Accelerating Earnings

India

Earnings acceleration means a company's profit growth is speeding up: each quarter grows faster than the one before, compared with the same quarter a year earlier. William O'Neil found that many of the biggest stock market winners showed accelerating earnings before their largest advances, and it is the "C" in CAN SLIM. This screen lists stocks on the Bombay Stock Exchange whose year-over-year EPS growth increased in each of the last three reported quarters, with a profitable latest quarter and a profitable year-ago quarter, fastest growth first. Prices are in Indian rupees, and the list covers BSE-listed stocks with at least 50 million rupees in average daily trading value.

Screening formula:
exch(bse) and type(stock) and advol(21) > 50 and eps_qtr > 0 and eps_qtr[4] >= 0.05 and eps_yoy > eps_yoy[1] and eps_yoy[1] > eps_yoy[2] and eps_yoy[2] > 0 and draw(earnrep) and sortby(eps_yoy, desc) and show(eps_yoy as eps_growth, eps_yoy[1] as eps_growth_q1, eps_yoy[2] as eps_growth_q2)
