A Spring is a bar that drops below a recent low but fails to hold there and closes back above it. The pattern, used by Toby Crabel and in Wyckoff analysis, shows that sellers who pushed for a breakdown were met by demand, so it often marks a false breakdown and a short-term bottom, especially at the lower edge of a trading range.
