This screen finds stocks with a relative volume above 5, meaning they are trading more than five times their usual volume today. Relative volume divides today's volume by the average daily volume of the past month, so a value of 1 means normal activity. Such extreme volume almost always reflects news, earnings or a major breakout, and these are among the most active stocks of the day.
