The Bullish Hikkake is a pattern that traps traders on a false breakdown: an inside bar, whose high and low are within the previous bar's range, is followed by a bar that breaks below the inside bar's low, and then the price reverses and closes above the inside bar's high within the next few bars. The failed breakdown forces short sellers to cover, which can fuel a sharp move higher.
