This screen finds stocks whose 14-day Average True Range has been rising for the last seven days. The ATR, developed by J. Welles Wilder, measures the average daily price range including gaps, so it tracks volatility rather than direction. A rising ATR shows that volatility is expanding, which often happens at breakouts, at the start of new trends or during sell-offs.
